Product Details
Hanka's debut album “Reflections of My Soul” has been recorded in 2007 thanks to the financial grant awarded by Music Fund in Slovakia in a secret voting once a year to extraordinary talented artists. Album was produced by renown alto saxophone player, Radovan Tariska, who also played alto and soprano saxophone on the record. The rest of the band were Slovak and Czech elite jazz musicians, Ondrej Krajnak, virtuoso pianist who continued to cooperate with Hanka for over a decade on all of her future recordings; Tomas Baros on bass and Marian Sevcik on drums.
On the album, Hanka recorded a mix of originals by renowned Slovak jazz musicians such as guitarist and composer Matúš Jakabcic and saxophone player Eric Rotthenstein and soul/pop covers close to her heart in jazz arrangements that influenced her earlier musical taste by Stevie Wonder, Crusaders and Lalah Hathaway. Hanka has also invited a famous Hungarian jazz singer Gabor Winand to sing with her on two songs.
Overall, Hanka's debut album introduces her in the best light as a new, promising vocalist on the Slovak jazz scene with powerful and soulful voice.
